PGA Rule 28 -- Ball Unplayable

If your ball is under a tree or in some other bad situation and you decide you cannot play it, add a penalty stroke and do one of the following:

  1. Go back to where you played the last shot and play a ball from there
  2. Measure two club-lengths from the unplayable lie, drop a ball and play from there
  3. Keep the unplayable lie between where you drop the ball and the hole, go back as far as you wish on a straight line and drop and play the ball.

Solera Golf Club Local Rule

Since many of the bunkers on both courses at East Valley are being converted to grass, we will play those areas as through the green, not bunkers, and as ground under repair until further notice. If your ball is in the ground under repair area, you are entitled to a free drop within one club length of the nearest point of relief, not closer to the hole.

Keep in mind the closest point of relief may not be the fairway.

As a reminder, please remember to putt out on every hole if you are at all in contention If you’re putting for an 8 on a Skins and Pins day, it’s OK to pick up as we still want to keep “Pace of Play” in the 4 hour range. Many of us tend get a little lax with our short putts and we all want to play by the same rules. So--just use good judgment and common sense and finish the putt when it’s important.

The SGC BOD thanks you --- The Solera Golf Club Board of Directors
