THINGS TO DO IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

In case of an emergency, Solera residents should do the following:


  • If the emergency involves only you and/or your home, DIAL 911. Wait for the City of Beaumonts Responders.

  • If the emergency involves Solera where the City of Beaumonts First Responders will be overwhelmed with the number of response calls, do the following:

    1. Check on the well-being of everyone in your home.
      If you need assistance, please wait for your ZONE CAPTAIN. If everyone is OK, place your ORANGE CARD in the front window of your home.
    2. Check your home for damage - Wait for your ZONE CAPTAIN to complete his/her first check of his/her area - Then report the damage to your ZONE CAPTAIN

An act to amend Section 1799.102 of the Health and Safety Code,relating to personal liability.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSELS DIGEST - SB 39

Existing law requires that any person, who in good faith and not for compensation, renders emergency medical care at the scene of an emergency shall not be liable for any civil damages resulting from any act or omission. This bill would enact the Good Samaritan Protection Act which would provide that any person, who in good faith and not for compensation, renders emergency medical or nonmedical care at the scene of an emergency shall not be liable for any civil damages resulting from any act or omission.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the Good Samaritan Protection Act.

SEC. 2. Section 1799.102 of the Health and Safety Code is amended to read:

1799.102. No person who in good faith, and not for compensation, renders emergency medical or nonmedical care at the scene of an emergency shall be liable for any civil damages resulting from any act or omission. The scene of an emergency shall not include emergency departments and other places where medical care is usually offered.
